Berries and favorite berry matching

Berry specialists (and every helper) find berries that feed Snorlax. When a berry matches Snorlax's favorite berries for the week, it counts for double strength.

Matching your team's berry types to the area's favorites is one of the biggest levers for reaching high rank. This guide lists each area's favorite berries so you can plan your team.

Why favorites matter

Each week, Snorlax has three favorite berry types. Berries that match give 2× strength; non-favorites give 1×.

If your team is mostly finding berries Snorlax doesn't like, you leave a lot of strength on the table. On fixed-area islands (Cyan, Taupe, Snowdrop, Lapis), the favorites never change—so you can build a team that always matches.

Greengrass Isle

Favorites: Random each week (any berry type).

Snorlax on Greengrass can have any three berry types as favorites. You don't know until the week starts, so you either swap team to match once you see them or run a mixed team. Great for trying different species.

Cyan Beach

Favorites: Oran, Pecha, Pamtre.

Always the same. Water-, Fairy-, and Flying-type helpers typically gather these. Build a team that finds Oran, Pecha, and/or Pamtre for consistent 2× strength.

Taupe Hollow

Favorites: Leppa, Figy, Sitrus.

Fixed every week. Fire-, Ground-, and Rock-type helpers usually carry these berries. Stack Leppa, Figy, and Sitrus finders for Taupe.

Snowdrop Tundra

Favorites: Rawst, Persim, Wiki.

Fixed every week. Ice-, Normal-, and Dark-type helpers typically gather them. Match your team to Rawst, Persim, and Wiki for best results.

Lapis Lakeside

Favorites: Durin, Mago, Cheri.

Fixed every week. Grass-, Psychic-, and Fighting-type helpers usually have these. Build around Durin, Mago, and Cheri for Lapis.

Old Gold Power Plant

Favorites: Grepa, Bluk, Belue.

Unlock at 340 Sleep Styles. Fixed every week. Electric-, Ghost-, and Steel-type helpers typically gather these. Build a team that finds Grepa, Bluk, and/or Belue for consistent 2× strength.

Amber Canyon

Favorites: Chesto, Lum, Yache.

Unlock at 450 Sleep Styles. Fixed every week. Dragon-, Bug-, and Ice-type helpers typically gather these. Build a team that finds Chesto, Lum, and/or Yache for consistent 2× strength.

Greengrass Isle (Expert)

Favorites: Random each week (same as standard Greengrass).

Unlock at Master 18 on Greengrass Isle. The community calls it GGEX. A harder variant of Greengrass with higher strength thresholds. Match team to Monday's favorites once the week starts.

How to match your team

Each Pokémon has a fixed berry type (shown on its profile). When you pick an island, check that week's favorites—on Greengrass, check Monday; on other islands, the favorites are always the three listed above.

Prioritize berry specialists whose berry type is one of Snorlax's favorites. Filling all five slots with favorite-berry finders isn't required (you may want ingredients or skills), but the more berries that match, the faster you climb.
